Our “TESS” …so close to her Show Championship

On September 8th, after trying to deliver her puppy for 2 days Journey underwent a C Section and gave us a single puppy.
I told her that just because we’ve been talking of down sizing in our retirement years, that it didn’t mean Litter Size!
Journey’s baby is gorgeous, a little male of average weight…he is perfect and very healthy. Gaining weight every day.
We have never raised a singleton puppy at Rushwind before. I know that there is always a concern of puppy socialization and missing that stage of puppy play…. Well, we have Trixie and Thomas all lined up and waiting at the whelping box to help with that! The little baby Prince is getting lots of lap time already as he hangs out with us every evening when we watch TV.
His favorite thing is to drape himself over a warm water pop bottle inside a fleece sock. Works perfectly.
Hopefully, Journey will give us larger litters in the future. “Tess” will grow up and be added to our breeding program also.
We are not accepting applications on this little boy, but you can enjoy the weekly photos of his progress.
The following photos are at 3 weeks 2 days. “Willie” got to expand his walking area for awhile and do a meet and greet with all of the others. Up on all fours and moving now.
Lots of kisses from Thomas!
October 16, 2022 WEE WILLIE is 5 weeks and 3 days old in the following photo shoot. He just ate his breakfast and is content and cooperative. Exploring all over the house now and Yes, getting in a little trouble!
Interacting with his adult BT’s is his favorite thing.
NOVEMBER 5, 2022 “WILLIE” is now 8 weeks old and this week will be his last at Rushwind. This one will be hard to let go. We are so attached to him and I think he kinda likes us too. Our 6 adult Border Terriers and 2 Labradors have been fabulous with him. Lots of patience, teaching, and respect for the little fella. We wish you the happiest life with your new Mom and Dad, silly Willie!
November 9, 2022 WILLIE PICK UP DAY! and a few last puppy photos.
Julie and Tom left with Willie and we totally forgot to get their Family Photo. Hoping that someone in their family will take one and send to me so I can add it to our “Families” Page.
Willie will have a wonderful life.
11/9/2022 “They’re Here, They’re Here!! My new family…”
Our hearts were heavy, but how can you not be excited for Julie and Tom?!
They are off to Cannon Falls, MN for a fun and love filled life! THE END
Lizzie has had some swimming parties with a couple of her siblings this summer. We have a beautiful swimming hole just down the road and they have a blast!
After taking a bit of a break, we are ready and excited to announce a couple of planned breedings before the end of 2022.
“JOURNEY”- (if all goes as planned) should have Border Terrier babies by September 2022.
“LIZZIE”- We are planning an All Yellow Labrador litter for early winter 2022-23.
This lovely little girl is 9 months old already and I am just now adding her website Page. She is one of Journey’s pups from the “Girly Girl”litter of two!
She is a Blue and Tan. A lot of personality and out going….no fear. We need to keep an eye on her at all times or she will be gone to the woods. Once she matures a bit more, we will start her in the show ring.
Check out her Page: RUSHWIND LONG DISTANCE ROMANCE “TESS”
We recently received a few proofs of his work.
Very exciting, as the photo shots turned out Great!
If you’d like to see more, there is a quick video clip on their site with his Christmas Pajama Family. Go to matildajaneclothing.com and look around. Merry Christmas from Rushwind “Rusty”!

Puppy updates and photos will be posted weekly.
We were recently contacted by a producer from CA that was looking for a Border Terrier to do a photo shoot for Matilda Jane clothing (NY) Christmas Catalog. After an interview on the phone, and pictures off our website, we got a call that Rusty was hired!
On Sept. 2nd we arrived at a massive and impressive Island Lodge in northern WI. Having to ride over to the Lodge on a ferry and being met by the director and producer, we knew we were going to have a Great Day! The Production Crew of 20+ members consisted of photography, coordinators, lighting, hair and make-up, personnel from the clothing line, models from the Talent Agency, and Rusty! Dan and I learned so much about what it takes to make everything click and put together a professional Ad.
Below are some pictures of the sets, but the rule was that we could not have our phones out during the actual shoots. We will get a catalog sometime in November. Exciting stuff!
