CH MEADOWLAKE MARDI GRAS X CH MEADOWLAKE DEVIL’S BREW
Becky – Mardi – Banks at 6 months old – Dan
We loved and cherished this guy for 16 years. On June 5th, 2023 he left us with broken hearts.
Banks was loved by all that came to our house. Quiet, kind, and always courteous.
He told us early on that he did not want to be a show dog. He would just melt when we would enter any arena. So we did some Earthdog events instead. He was the
Greeter of our household and a precious presence where ever he was. He is missed so much.
This was a co-breeding with Karen Rude from Lakewood Labradors using the last of her frozen semen from her highly accomplished Yellow Sire “Higgins”, who was born in 1998. We understood that there was a chance of a smaller litter with a surgical implant of frozen semen.
Happy Girl!
“Lizzie” is our beautiful yellow girl with nice conformation, a gentle, silly temperament, and all of her genetic clearances. How could we go wrong? So we went ahead with it!
On March 21, 2023 Lizzie had 2 beautiful, big, healthy puppies. 1 Male and 1 Female. Of course, we were hoping for a few more, but are so grateful for these two and their healthy, happy Mama!
Check back weekly, as I will be posting updates and pictures as they grow. Both puppies are spoken for already.
Five hours after their birth. Lizzie wasn’t quite sure about any of it.2 days old. Lizzie should be kicking into Mother Mode soon.

And she’s off… to start her new life with Natalie. There was a lot of excitement at Rushwind on Saturday! Have a wonderful life, “Rosie”! Thank you Natalie, for coming along on this Puppy Journey with us!
Huge thank you to Jackie Steinmetz-Johnson who has been expertly handling her and to Terri Steinmetz for taking such good care of her. You guys are great!
Visit Tess’s Page for more pictures. She will be added to our breeding program this Fall.
On September 8th, after trying to deliver her puppy for 2 days Journey underwent a C Section and gave us a single puppy.
I told her that just because we’ve been talking of down sizing in our retirement years, that it didn’t mean Litter Size!
Journey’s baby is gorgeous, a little male of average weight…he is perfect and very healthy. Gaining weight every day.
We have never raised a singleton puppy at Rushwind before. I know that there is always a concern of puppy socialization and missing that stage of puppy play…. Well, we have Trixie and Thomas all lined up and waiting at the whelping box to help with that! The little baby Prince is getting lots of lap time already as he hangs out with us every evening when we watch TV.
His favorite thing is to drape himself over a warm water pop bottle inside a fleece sock. Works perfectly.
Hopefully, Journey will give us larger litters in the future. “Tess” will grow up and be added to our breeding program also.
We are not accepting applications on this little boy, but you can enjoy the weekly photos of his progress.

The following photos are at 3 weeks 2 days. “Willie” got to expand his walking area for awhile and do a meet and greet with all of the others. Up on all fours and moving now.
Trixie, his Grandma, is quite interested in him.
Uncle Thomas comes over to say “Hi”
Lots of kisses from Thomas!
We have “Flat Lenora” living with us until the end of November. It is a school project for our great niece. Today Flat Lenora got to be part of Willie’s 4.5 week photos. Our little Prince is now named Willie. His family lives in Cannon Falls, MNWillie has one of his favorite toys. He likes to chew on the unicorn hornOh, how he would he love to get going! He runs and plays on the floor for a while 2 or 3 times a day.
October 16, 2022 WEE WILLIE is 5 weeks and 3 days old in the following photo shoot. He just ate his breakfast and is content and cooperative. Exploring all over the house now and Yes, getting in a little trouble!
Interacting with his adult BT’s is his favorite thing.
Hey Everyone, Can you believe that I am 7 weeks old already? I love getting all of the attention around here, from my humans and all the other big dogs.I play and run in the leaves and grass. Then I help Dad clean up the flower gardens for winter. But, I still need to stop for some “Mom” time.
“I’m really smart too!” We’re working on house training and I go potty outside almost all of the time. I love putting myself to bed in my crate when I get totally wore out. So crate training was a breeze.
Raising a Singleton puppy…guess it’s going OK.
NOVEMBER 5, 2022 “WILLIE” is now 8 weeks old and this week will be his last at Rushwind. This one will be hard to let go. We are so attached to him and I think he kinda likes us too. Our 6 adult Border Terriers and 2 Labradors have been fabulous with him. Lots of patience, teaching, and respect for the little fella. We wish you the happiest life with your new Mom and Dad, silly Willie!
Willie and Journey on the morning play platform. It gets pretty wild when 4 or 5 others join in.Of, course there are teaching moments when Willie starts to get out of hand with the biting.Tess, trying to supervise the situation.Ready for his nap. Willie finds a quiet, safe space by Dan’s computer chair.
November 9, 2022 WILLIE PICK UP DAY! and a few last puppy photos.
Julie and Tom left with Willie and we totally forgot to get their Family Photo. Hoping that someone in their family will take one and send to me so I can add it to our “Families” Page.
Willie will have a wonderful life.
The evening before departure…sound asleep with his Grandma Trixie.Willie wanted one more picture with Flat Lenora before he leaves Rushwind.
11/9/2022 “They’re Here, They’re Here!! My new family…”
Our hearts were heavy, but how can you not be excited for Julie and Tom?!
They are off to Cannon Falls, MN for a fun and love filled life! THE END

This lovely little girl is 9 months old already and I am just now adding her website Page. She is one of Journey’s pups from the “Girly Girl”litter of two!
She is a Blue and Tan. A lot of personality and out going….no fear. We need to keep an eye on her at all times or she will be gone to the woods. Once she matures a bit more, we will start her in the show ring.
