 Stillwater Vet Clinic, MN.  A warm “Thank You” to Dr. Kathy Olson and her wonderful staff.  It’s been a busy, sleepless weekend tending to everyone, checking weights and making sure all are fed and clean.  Lizzie is a Champ!

UPDATE:    October 1st- We had a sad day yesterday.  One of the little black boys passed away.  I had been syringe feeding him all along, but he continued to lose weight and was so weak.  He may have been born with a defect.

Lizzie has now kicked in to Full Mother Mode and the remaining 10 babies are growing and active.

Introducing the “LIZZIE” and “HIGGINS” puppies March 21, 2023

CH RIDGE VIEW CHARMING PLAYBOY “HIGGINS”  X   RUSHWIND’S SWEET LEGACY  “LIZZIE”

This was a co-breeding with Karen Rude from Lakewood Labradors using the last of her frozen semen from her highly accomplished Yellow Sire “Higgins”, who was born in 1998.  We understood that there was a chance of a smaller litter with a surgical implant of frozen semen.

Happy Girl!

“Lizzie” is our beautiful yellow girl with nice conformation, a gentle, silly temperament, and all of her genetic clearances.  How could we go wrong?  So we went ahead with it!

On March 21, 2023 Lizzie had 2 beautiful, big, healthy puppies.  1 Male and 1 Female.  Of course, we were hoping for a few more, but are so grateful for these two and their healthy, happy Mama!

Check back weekly, as I will be posting updates and pictures as they grow.  Both puppies are spoken for already.

Lizzie is listening for those pesty Border Terrier girls that want to get in the box and help! Everybody around here loves puppy time and are more than happy to assist the new Mama!

1 Week Later….

The story of Jack and Jill continues.  Both puppies are thriving, content, and gaining weight!  Lovely babies!

We added a neck pillow to the whelping box. It has become a favorite for climbing on and sleeping comfortably.
Well, we knew it would happen…Journey snuck in the box and wants to feed the babies…
The Rushwind girls always share responsibility of a new litter. Everything is good.

May 20, 2023 Pick up Day has arrived.    And she’s off… to start her new life with Natalie.

SUGAR BABIES HAVE ARRIVED!

Sugar decided that she would start Labor on Weds. December 16th (2 days before her scheduled C-Section.)

So away we went to the Stillwater Veterinary Clinic and we came home with 9 beautiful, healthy yellow lab puppies!  Sugar is doing great and is such a wonderful Mom!

Here  begins another Fun Adventure at Rushwind!  Can you imagine 9 Rowdy Labrador Puppies indoors in the dead of winter?  Yikes!

“SUGAR” X “REAGAN” Confirmed Labrador Pregnancy!

Sugar had her Pregnancy Ultrasound at the Stillwater Vet Clinic in Stillwater, MN today.

Approximate Puppy Count:  8, maybe 9 puppies.  Due Date: December 19, 2020 with Pups Ready to go in mid-February 2021.

This will be an all yellow litter and we are so excited!

Sugar had to ride along with the Border Terrier puppies to the Vet today.

August 18, 2019   It has been a big weekend for the Pups.  They turned 3 weeks old, moved out to their new

home in the kennel, had their nails clipped, and they started “puppy mush” twice a day.  Mama Sugar is doing great, but I think she is relieved now to have a little help feeding the hungry crew and getting some help with clean up!

8 weeks and 1 day. Four of the babies will leave today with their wonderful families. Heavy hearts at our house.

YELLOW BOY “ATLAS” GOES TO KIEL, WI TO JOIN HIS BROTHER MAVRIK, ALSO FROM RUSHWIND KENNEL.
MISS LAVENDER “SOLA” GOES HOME TO ST. PAUL WITH HER EXCITED FAMILY!
Mr. Red “WILLY” left Rushwind with his new Dad, Joe and his son Cole.
Just came from a Boundary Waters fishing trip and headed back home to Arkansas.
MISS AQUA “Maggie” will meet her new family in a few days.
Chad and Dawn have kept this secret from their kids.

This post has been delayed because Sugar has had a few rough days…..

Best News is, that we have a Yellow Mama that has an All Black Litter!  The pups were born on July 26th.

All 7 are beautiful and healthy.  4 Males and 3 Females.  There will be more pictures coming as Sugar

recuperates and we catch up on some sleep!
